Samantha Bee you beautiful Canadian

I love those (sadly rare) cases of the Daily Show’s normally clueless interview subjects suddenly realizing that their argument/point/outlook is really bad, instead of just doubling down on the fist-pumping.

i’m one of those annoying people who’s always like “omg i know that actor from somewhere omg i recognize them whAT WERE THEY IN” when watching tv shows/movies who then proceeds to look it up on their phone and inform everyone that said actor was an extra in an episode of some stupid 90s sitcom once

Wait… I thought everyone did that?

This week, a few of us got a real treat and visited master blacksmith, Tony Swatton, who made Sokka’s space sword for the web series, Man at Arms. Turns out his studio, Sword and the Stone is right up the street from Nickelodeon. Tony was kind enough to show us his amazing workshop and craft us a few small pieces of metal made from one of the chunks of meteorite he used to create the sword. If you haven’t seen the video, it’s well worth watching. His craftsmanship is incredible. The texture detail on the sword blade is amazing and I love the White Lotus emblem on the bottom of the hilt.

SPACE SWORD! The highlight of my week! Thanks, Tony!

Many classic horror icons and other disturbing creatures share common characteristics. Pale skin, dark, sunken eyes, elongated faces, sharp teeth, and the like. These images inspire horror and revulsion in many, and with good reason. The characteristics shared by these faces are imprinted in the human mind.

Many things frighten humans instinctively. The fear is natural, and does not need to be reinforced in order to terrify. The fears are species-wide, stemming from dark times in the past when lightning could mean the burning of your tree home, predators could be hiding in the dark, heights could make poor footing lethal, and a spider or snake bite could mean certain death.

The question you have to ask yourself is this:

What happened, deep in the hidden eras before history began, that could effect the entire human race so evenly as to give the entire species a deep, instinctual, and lasting fear of pale beings with dark, sunken eyes, razor sharp teeth, and elongated faces?

To be honest that last question frightened me more that the picture.

Remember when Brendon reported that assumptions were flying around about a secret female character set to appear in the Batman-Superman film and how it might actually be Wonder Woman? Well, Alexander would certainly fit that role to a T.

As Forbes notes, she did say during the panel that she “sorta” knows the plot of the Batman-Superman film. Not many people will. Those auditioning for smaller roles likely don’t know much at all.

HOLY SHIT YES PLEASE SHE WOULD BE PERFECT AS DIANA

Jensen Ackles  - Eye of the Tiger

JARED: We have Phil directing an episode, and Phil’s one of our directors that kinda let us have fun—improv a little bit, play around—and so the scene is I walk up with donuts and bang on the car and catch him kind of amping himself up, so they had this big shot set up, and they were like “And roll cameras, roll sound, and action!”. And I just kinda stood there, I was like, “I’m not going in, I wanna see what he does”, so I guess he didn’t have any idea, coz I didn’t tell anybody. so even Johnny, our first AD, was like, “Hey, hey, cue!” and I was like, “I know, I know, that’s fine”

JENSEN: So I’m sitting there in the front seat and hear the play back, the big speaker, and we’re outside. We’ve got extras walking down the street and cars flying by, and this whole thing. We got two cameras set up—which is why it’s edited together so a lot of people were like no way, they had multiple cameras set up, there was just two cameras set up—and so I’m sitting there, doing the drumming and he should have been here by now… something’s going on—why is he not—he should have stopped it—what’s that—well here come the words…the first line is rising up… That’s just too good. And then I just, I went with it, and then you notice maybe as I’m climbing out the car window that I kinda like, I start smiling and I almost started laughing and I turned and I’m like “No, keep going, keep going, you can do this”

I SWEAR THIS VIDEO WILL BE SUPERNATURAL’S LEGACY
